Title: The Hello Goodbye Window

Author: Norton Juster

Illustrator: Chris Raschka

Genre: Cintempary Realistic Fiction

Age level: K-4th

Summary: The Hello, Goodbye Window is an amazing book about a little girl and her experiences at her grandparents house with this special window. This book is sweet and warm. It is focused around this window and everything that involved it. As she arrives there she plays games with her grandparents before she goes in. She eats dinner next to this window and says goodnight to all the stars through it before bed. She wakes up and eats her grandpas special breakfast next to the window and when she leaves she blows her grandparents kisses through it.  This book won the Caldecott in 2006 and I think it deserved it. These abstract watercolor pictures were different than anything I have ever seen. The books words inspire creativity and I think the pictures do just the same. The pictures are extremely colorful and very appealing to the eye.
